Eddie Murray 1992-93 Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat

One of four players in history to be a member of both the 500 HR Club (504) and 3000 Hit Club (3255) Eddie Murray began his Major League career by being named the AL Rookie of the Year in 1977 with the Baltimore Orioles. Twenty-two years later he had established himself as one of the most productive switch hitters in baseball history. From 1979 to 1984 he annually finished in the top ten of AL Most Valuable Player balloting. Murray was a member of the 1983 World Champion Orioles, and also played with the Dodgers, Mets, Indians, and Angels. He was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.

This is a Eddie Murray game-used professional model baseball bat manufactured by Hillerich & Bradsby.. Murray's name is stamped on the barrel in script, indicating that he had an endorsement contract with the company at the time of manufacture. This bat has what is commonly referred to as 1991-97 era labeling, however is specific to 1992, Murray's first season with the New York Mets – a season in which he hit 16 home runs and drove in 96 runs. The Model Number M275 is stamped into the barrel of this bat, The bat has a black finish. It measures 35.5 inches in length and currently weighs approximately 34 ounces. A review of Murray's personal H & B records for his two seasons with the Mets, 1992 and 1993, documents that model M275 bats matching the above dimensions and finish were shipped to him three times in 1992 (2/5/92, 4/9/92, and 6/11/92) and were not shipped in 1993. The number 33 is evident on the knob and the barrel end of this bat, written in silver marker. Murray wore uniform number 33 in 1992 and 1993 with the Mets. This bat exhibits light-to-moderate use, including hit marks and ball marks. Most significantly is Murray's characteristic criss-cross tape application on the handle, with pine tar staining evident.

This is an outstanding bat from the latter part of the career of Hall of Famer and 500 HR Club and 3000 Hit Club member Eddie Murray that would have no need of upgrading in your collection.View Lot Detail page
