Toby Harrah 1969-72 Hillerich & Bradsby Professional Model Autographed Game Used Bat

Toby Harrah was a multi-talented player who spent 17 years in the big leagues. He played several infield positions, had some power, drew walks well, and stole a lot of bases. A four-time All Star, Harrah broke in with the 1969 Washington Senators and moved to Texas with them in 1972, the year he was named to the All-Star team for the first time. He played nine years with the team. He had some hitting peaks during that time, with 27 home runs in 1977, 109 walks in the same year, 93 RBI in 1975, and 31 stolen bases in 1978. Harrah then spent five years with the Cleveland Indians, scoring 100 runs twice and posting his high batting average of .304 in 1982. He finished out his career playing one year with the New York Yankees and two with his original team, the Texas Rangers. Harrah was the last member of the expansion Senators to play in the Major Leagues.

This bat was manufactured by the Hillerich & Bradsby Company. It is a signature model with Toby Harrah's name stamped in script on the barrel as he had an endorsement contract with the company at the time of manufacture. This bat has what is commonly referred to as 1969-72 era labeling, however this bat is specific to 1971, Harrah's rookie year with the Senators 9he had one AB earlier in 1969.) The Model Number U1 is stamped into barrel of this bat. The bat has a deep, rich hickory finish. It measures 34.5 inches in length and currently weighs approximately 32 ounces. The number 11 is evident on the knob of this bat, written in vintage black marker. Harrah wore uniform number 11 in 1971 with the Washington Senators. This bat is uncracked and exhibits light use, including hit marks and wear on the knob and barrel end. Harrah has signed this bat on the sweet spot in silver marker. The signature is clear and measures approximately 5 inches in length.

This is an opportunity to obtain another tough bat from a member of the fan favorite expansion Washington Senators. View Lot Detail page
