Presented here is the actual first base used on Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger Stadium in a game between the LA Dodgers and the San Diego Padres on April 15, 2007. The base is a standard Schutt Sports version (Jack Corbett, Original Hollywood) with the MLB logo imprinted on it. The side panel of the base dons the Jackie Robinson Day commemorative jewels which include the date of the game as well as a Jackie Robinson Day 40thAnniversary insignia.
Fittingly, the Dodgers, whose players all wore Jackie Robinson's number 42 on their jerseys that day, honored the retired legend with a 9-3 victory that featured five stolen bases, an eight year high, by the Dodgers. The stolen bases couldn't have been more appropriate given all the fans at the game received a charcoal rendition poster of Jackie Robinson stealing home by artist Brett Tomko.
Here is your chance to acquire a great piece of baseball memorabilia honoring the man who help make Major League Baseball the game it is today.
