Sorry I took so long to post these.

Here is an updated pics of my Flash Collection. I sold the Red Sox bat long ago.

There are 4 1998's, 2 1999's, one 2000 and one 2001......Three of the 1998's has his #23, he wore #23 only from April to May 25th (also in Spring Training he wore #23). John missed 23 games from May 26th to June 19th with a fractured thumb. Upon returning he started to wear #6, his favorite number since little league.

I received my newest purchase today (finally).....

Here it is my newest addition. Its a 2000 season style Louisville Slugger (filled in MLB logo).

I noticed John went to a longer bat in 2000 . Also one of my 1999's is cupped , one is not.

No kidding.

Initially, I was told by someone that the "outline" MLB logo was on all '99 LS bats, as well as on bats made early in 2000 - that sometime during 2000, they'd switched to the filled-in logo, and that in 2001, the logo migrated to the back.

I've since seen bats that I know for a fact were made and used as late as 2001, which have the 'outline' logo on the front. I've also got a 2000 Curt Schilling bat with no MLB logo at all.

I bet someday in the future bat experts will write a book on LS Bats 1999 -2003 .

I have read some players requested no logos on their bats...

I like Rawlings bats and Sam Bats for putting the dates on the bats....

I just won a 2000 style Louisville Slugger of Mr. Flaherty's and it is autographed ! I will post better pictures when I receive the bat ....

I have decided to collect John Flaherty items from all of his other teams he played for . I scored a Pawtucket Red Sox team signed ball from 1991 or 1992 . Flaherty has actually signed the ball twice . Also signed by John Valentin , Paul Quantrill . I don't see Mo Vaughn on it ....

Also scored a game used bat from his last Spring Training ever . I thought at first the bat was a 1992 or 1993 . But upon receiving the bat , it has the Tpx and MLB logos on the back side , so it has to be a 2006 Spring Training bat .

Does anyone know what number Flash wore in Spring of 2006 w/ the Red Sox??? PLMK ! Thanks ! He wore #15 with the Red Sox in 1992 and 1993 ...

I just got in the mail today a 1998 John Flaherty Louisville Slugger with the #6. What is the big deal to me with this bat? Well , Flash switched his uniform number June 20, 1998 from #23 to #6 .

I already had two 1998's with his #23 but did not have a #6 . Now , the only thing lacking is a 2000 style (MLB Logo blacked out). If they are even out there , I have read some weird things about 1999-2000 Louisville Sluggers and the logo style not being consistent .

The newest arrival is on top of the pictures along with the other two 98's . Then a pair of 99's (one is team signed) . Last but not least is 2001-2003.

Flash played five seasons with the Devil Rays (1998 thru 2002).
