Deloitte and Touche is across the street from Busch Stadium. I have seen plenty of MLB stickers that have Deloitte listed as the authenticator. I wonder if they send a guy over for games, etc.

Speaking of authentictors (authenticaters?"), I was watching a game the other night, and they were showing some guy in a golf shirt and wearing an access pass on a lanyard, sitting near the dugout, and talking about how this guy was "the MLB Authenticator". I guess I'd never realized that MLB would have "a guy" at every game, looking for stuff to authenticate.

I'd love to talk with one of these guys - ask them how they decide which stuff to snatch and whisk off to MLB Central for auction purposes...whether the team or players ever give them a hard time about stuff, you know, those kinds of things.

I found a great photomatch on mlb.com I have the premium thing where I can watch all the older games and it showed a close up of the crack when the bat was dropped by fielder when he was running to first. But nothing happens when I hit my print screen button so I cant help you out.

I just checked out the boxscores for that game, and the Brewers were on a long road trip. That was the 9th game on the 10 game road trip so quite possibly the Prince ran out of bats which is why he used a Morneau!!!!

I also noticed someone ran black marker over Morneau's name on the barrell which you don't see everyday on "borrrowed" bats!

Congrats to the authenticator for getting the description right.

As we have discusssed on here before, many times when players are using other players bats the authenticator doesn't always get it right!

    A new pickup, borrowed equipment

I got this as a freebie today from one of my friends. Its a Justin Morneau model bat used by Prince Fielder. Its got a nice chunk missing out of it and Justin's name and team name are crossed off in black marker on the barrel. Its got mlb authentication on the knob. It was used in 2006 by Fielder and broken on July 1st 2006 in the 7th inning of the game vs Minnesota. I think its a neat piece.
