Yeah, he uses a knobless style bat. It does flare some but doesn't form a knob.

I have a game used Gabe Gross bat. It has a SUPER small crack and feels great. I will probably be selling it soon only because I need money. It is one of my favorite bats. It is a Louisville Slugger ash model G182 (I am guessing Gabe's personal model) and you are correct, it is knobless.
