I never see anybody selling them, unless they are $3K...

I think he paid like $1900 plus auction fees for that bat in the spring, and I think he got the 98 Sosa from Ball Park Heroes off ebay for $395. Im not sure if he is saying the Sosa is a photo match or a style match. IF I had to take a guess the 98 Mcgwire is worth about $2500. I picked up a signed 2000 with better use than the 98 for $1100. My 2000 also came with a Cardinals Care COA and it is cracked. That 98 is a very nice bat though! I would like to see better photos of the barrel and see what kind of seam marks it has.

Don post some pics of the barrel, put it up to a light like this and see what the seam marks look like. This is from one of my Mac bats.

The bat is not cracked nor autographed. It has heavy pine tar. Not the light coat you see on bogus 98 gamers. Hand print impressions on the handle. A bunch of black bat rack marks, a bunch of black NL ball marks. It comes from batch 909. This batch number yielded the 66-70 HR bat. That bat is in the HOF, so this bat was either a BP bat or it was used in between HR's 62 and 66. The batch is from mid to late September. Here are more pics.

i would have to go with my jackie robinson signed ball or my clemente signed ball. i would have to get rid of all my arod cuz it would be sad if i was left with one of his items. might as well get rid of all of it. both authenticated by some signature expert from honabach.

My 1996 Willie McGee Rawlings gamer - No question. It might not be the most valuable item in my collection, but it makes me smile every time I look at it. Unless you lived in STL when he played - you might not understand the fascination with Wille...but he is more revered in this town than certain hall of famers (rhymes with Fozzy). When he retured to the Cards after his tour of California (Oak, SF), he recieved a HUGE ovation every time he came to the plate.

I had this one signed a couple of years ago. Willie looked at it, touched the handle (where it's grooved), and smiled..'It's one of mine'. Willie is known for using LS C271's, so this is not really a common bat either. Show plenty of 'switch hitting use' too. Thanks Jeff!

Adam, it's a pretty cool bat.
