Just got an email back from nfl auctions.com and they said the Chargers recycled Jerseys and it was Was wore by sproles.

Yadda, yadda. What wear is evident on the jersey?

Here is an example of a Chargers jersey that has been recycled. You can see on the sleeves of this Darren Bennett jersey that there are rectangles sewn over the adidas logos just below the lightning bolts.

In fact, check this out- Here is a Darren Sproles practice jersey which came straight from the team which was used in 2005, but check out the neck tag...

The chargers recycle jerseys often. It could be a preseason jersey from sproles' rookie year. the wrong year on the neck tag of a chargers jersey is not necessarily a red flag by any means.

Over the years, NFL Auctions has sold many "game used" jerseys which appear to have been modified for a preseason game- like an adidas patch sewn over a starter logo when they switched manufacturers but still wanted to re-use the jerseys.

thought I would help to shed some light in regards to the neck tagging issue. Just because a neck tag has "07" or "06" or "04" doesn't mean it could not have been worn a later year like 2008. Teams have blank jerseys that they get made for that particular player. See this example:

Man if you bought the one for $350 now is the time to sell..If you are looking to get rid of bit..Thats a great price for a gamer considering authentics are only a $100 cheaper..Who knows he might be replacing LT the rest of the way..

The collar tagging say 03. He was at Kansas State in 03. They beat Oklahome in the big 12 Championship game. Thats why i have questions. I dont know enough about jerseys. Why would it be game worn if he wasnt in the nfl. thanks for all your help.

See my post below, we crossed each other. Note Sproles missed 2006 due to injury and unis changed in 2007. Bottom line, if it IS as represented - game used - there should be SOME visible wear. If no wear you can either request return with NFL Auctions or flip it with the honest representation made by NFL Auctions. If you're uncomfortable link to the auction and let the buyer decide.

I have emailed them about this to find out. I emailed them before i bought it but no response. I bet it was a misprint. There is really no wear to the jersey. thanks again.

If there's no wear, I'd look to see how much he played the year in question.

Argh, again never mind, you say it says 03 and Sproles did not join the Chargers until 2005. Definite red flag, particularly if no wear on jersey, and particularly since they also auction pro-cut jerseys, could have been a listing error. Could the Chargers have used a recycled 03 jersey for Sproles? Don't know, but absent obvious wear I would be suspicious.

What are the supposed red flags? Jersey is trashed with game use, direct from NFL Auctions, and bears the London game patch.

What's to doubt?

After Sproles' game last night you can at least get your money out of it I would think.
