I suspected the same as soon as I saw the inaugural uni patch, as well. But what is your source for this information? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Everyone,

Wow, that is so much nicer. I don't like the new patch. I agree with deputy, no character

    Best,
    Jessie

ALWAYS LOOKING FOR METS CATCHER ITEMS and bats from: Bruce Berenyl, Ed Lynch, Randy Niemann, Rick Anderson, John Mitchell as well as from members of the 2000 Mets

The new patch is placed like this on the jerseys:

I expected the new patch to be worn at an angle, just like in all of the illustrations, so that the phrase "Inagaural Season" would appear perfectly level (horizontal).

These are real patches which have meaning.

The 2009 patch is a corporate sell-out. They replaced the Citi with Inarugural Season while maintaining the image of the Citifield logo (subliminal advertising if you ask me).

Note how all the previous patches which celebrated Shea had an image of the stadium and the words Mets. Not even the team name made it to the 2009 patch.

There's a thread on www.baseball-fever.com which members have also voiced their dismay of the 2009 patch and some have come up with their own designs 100x better than the unimaginative "CitiBank" field logo.

Mets were contacted by some of the members of that forum and stated the 2009 patch will not change but they may feature a cap patch which will have an image of the field.

20 million a year carries alot of clout.

This patch has style and character:

My kid could do better than the Inaugural Season patch.
