Re: 1984 Rangers - need a hand
Wrestlecon / Ryan4fregosi:
Thanks for all of your useful information. I have included this information as best as I can in my ebay description for this jersey.
Greg Harris was an unbelievable talent, and Canady seems like he had extraordinary potential before he tore his ACL.
Thanks again,
Nick

Re: 1984 Rangers - need a hand
A 1984 Rangers jersey would have been used in 1985 Spring Training. I have several examples in my collection including a Dave Stewart/Bobby Witt double name plate jersey. Greg Harris was #27 in 1985 Spring Training. Let me know if you have any other questions about Rangers jerseys.Leave a comment:

Re: 1984 Rangers - need a hand
On the Rangers 1984 Spring Training roster, #27 was issued to an outfielder named Chuckie Canady, who never made The Show.
Source: Baseball Digest, 4/84.
I have seen cases where the media guides were printed in advance of a specific trade or call-up, and the correct is not listed due to the timing of the print.
Would you happen to know where I could find out what #s the manager & coaches of the team wore that year?
Again, thanks for your info.

1984 Rangers - need a hand
All,
Can anyone out there tell me who wore #27 for the 1984 Texas Rangers?
I have a set 1 #27 jersey with nameplate stripped off, and can't seem to figure out who wore it.
I have searched thru all the roster player numbers, and there was no 27.
I have a list of manager/coaches but cannot find out what numbers these guys wore: Doug Rader, Merv Rettenmund, Rich Donnelly, Wayne Terwilliger, Dick Such and Glenn Ezell. Any help with their uniform #s in '84 would be great.
If it turns out that no coach/manager wore 27, does anyone out there have a media guide that might point to a spring training player?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
