All I know is that the bat is from 2007, and he stopped using this tape job in early July (07). He played 5 games in May and all of June. I be happy to pay you if you can get a match. Tell me if you need any more pics. Thanks!!!!

I have a Franklin Gutierrez bat that should be easy to match based on the marks on it, but I've checked Getty, AP, Icon Sports, US Presswire, flickr and couldn't get a match. I don't have MLB.tv but if I got it for a month could I see the old footage from 2007? Any other photo sites I should try? Thanks!!!!

This is an awesome story Kyle! Probably feels like winning the lottery. Maybe you can offer Mark a trade for some other items as I am sure he would love to have the jersey from that special night. Most guys don't make 1500 Hits, so that is a nice little piece of history for him!

I purchased Mark Kotsay's jersey from the Braves the other day for just $100.

Amazing. $100 for a jersey that cost the team probably more than that. Then it turns out to be a jersey of significance.

I am just going crazy right now. I purchased Mark Kotsay's jersey from the Braves the other day for just $100. I have just photomatched it to August 14th, 2008, when he hit for the cycle and got his 1,500th hit. Check it out....I matched a loose stitch in the "A" along with another small stitch on the "SKIP" patch. The alignment also matches perfectly.

Congrats. Another amazing CSI Kyle episode. Cycle Items are rare.

If my yearly MLBTV did not run out i would have bought the jersey without saying anything. But im glad it turn out to be the same.

Actually I checked MLB.tv first and it's impossible to see the loose stitches. The only thing I could match from it was the alignment of the lettering. After I matched that, I looked for pictures, and was lucky enough to find that high-resolution photo of him.
