I was at the O's game yesterday and there were a ton of "Army camouflage" caps. Is that another MLB promotion?

My ballpark buddy Joe McCarthy was at Wrigley Field last night and asked Pirates coach Perry Hill about getting one of his. Hill politely declined, explaining that each player was only issued 1 or 2 apiece.

As far as not all teams' caps making it to the MLB Auctions...you are correct. The Cubs had numerous 2008 Stars and Stripes caps for sale at the January Cubs Convention, most of which were sold for amounts significantly less than the minimum bids sought on MLB.com .

They are also wearing them multiple times. July 4 and Sept 11 I believe.

Not sure if they wear the same hat all 3 dates or new ones for each date. I would think it depends on the team and the player. Some will wear same one for all and some will wear new one for each game.

Yes, most will be auctioned off but keep in mind some never seem to make it to the auction.

I believe the it will be a Veteran's charity that will be the recipient of the proceeds.
