2001 Chris Claiborne practice jersey re-used in 2002 (nfl equipment shield sewn on over the old nfl shield). The jersey is really beat up w/ multiple repairs.
Both are Ripon jerseys and though the camera phone doesnt quite do the photos justice, they both show a TON of use. Note the hand-colored '6' on the #68 jersey.
I was at Ford Field Yesterday 9-10-09, wandered into the Pro Shop and the Detroit Lions had a rack of about 80 practise jerseys, heavy weight blue jerseys and white jerseys, skill cut sleeves, loose body fit, with year/collar tagging, impact marks, repairs, the jersey number's ranged from #25 to #99. They were selling for $50. each.
I'm moving to New Orleans next month for law school. Where did you get all your jerseys? Do you have any Brian Young (#66) jerseys? If not, any other jerseys you wouldn't mind parting with? Please e-mail me. ALoving77@aol.com . Thanks.
This is representative of a bunch of Saints practice jerseys that I bought in a sports shop in New Orleans. They had gobs of them on the rack. They also had game jerseys so I grabbed a bunch of them too. I was able to put this one (which was from Chad Setterstrom) into the hands of his dad up in Minn. He put it in his office. The Saints went NNOB last year so no more like this.
Incidentally Chad has a brother, Mark, playing for the Rams.
Interesting thread. I think practice jerseys are a bit undervalued, IMO.
Here's Reggie White's 1996 practice jersey, worn for training camps and practices throughout the season. After the season was over, the team removed the Starter logos and tagging, replacing them with Nike ones (as the Packers switched to Nike for the 1997 season) so the jersey could be pressed into service again if needed.
This one shows tremendous wear and repairs (10 in all), befitting to one of the greatest players ever, I suppose.
