The White Sox don't need outfielders who can hit the ball...they need ANYONE who can CATCH the ball!
The financial strain of assuming his huge contract will only be for the remainder of 2009, as the Sox can eliminate as much as $40,000,000 by not renewing high-priced veterans to contracts, among the bunch (sad to say) being Forum favorite Jim Thome.
