Re: Question for you guys regarding LVS brand

I know Joey Votto used to be notorious for this during his minor league days. You will see VERY few Joey Votto minor league M9's with a label on them. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen an old Votto M9 with a label in it.

I actually have a Jeff Keppinger M9 from 2007 with no label. When I had him sign it, he even asked "what happened to the label?" My response was, "I was gonna ask you the same thing." I guess it's possible somebody else got the bat and removed the thing, because he didn't seem to remember.

I wonder sometimes if it's a sponsorship thing. Like Votto in the minors, removes the label so he doesn't appear partial to any particular brand, and can court different companies. Seems like the kind of thing Helton is pulling. The guy has been with Mizuno FOREVER, but still does things like a couple years ago wearing those Nike cleats with the makeshift custom Mizuno logo glued over top of the swoosh. Loves the cleats, can't have another brand's logo visible.

I guess this isn't that unusual as I have a 2009 Andre Ethier SAM bat that is missing the SAM logo. All of the other markings are intact.

Yes, Todd Helton is notorious for this. See the link:
Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies bats during the game against the New York Mets at Citi Field in Flushing, New York on July 30, 2009. The Mets defeated the Rockies 7-0.

Yeah, that's just a Louisville M9 with the centerbrand decal removed.Somewhere I even saw a photo of Todd Helton using one removed the same way.Its not a factory mistake or ordered that way-like Rob said, its just a bored player..

I have a Cal Eldred Cardinals bat that's the same way. I've just always assumed that players get bored, and when you're bored you sometimes engage in mindless activities, like peeling the label off your bat.

Question for you guys regarding LVS brand

I picked up this bat from Adam Loewen yesterday after the Desert Dogs game and noticed that it has not LVS label on it. It's pretty obvious that its an LVS bat with other markings but not center label. Is this a mistake that snuck out of the factory or something that players can order?
