There needs to be a shirt required rule at those spring training parks, imagine sitting for a full 9 innings next to those two guys in the back.....eeek!Leave a comment:

You should just leave it as is. Although nothing should go wrong by removing it, you shouldn't take the chanceLeave a comment:

Re: Photomatched my 2004 Mauer rookie bat
I would probably leave it if it were mine. Its possible it may very well work, but its also possible that it could do more harm than good.
BTW, if you are ever selling any of your Mauer's. give me a holler. Thanks.Leave a comment:

Re: Photomatched my 2004 Mauer rookie bat
Thanks guys.
Thanks Tony. I have always thought about trying to remove the inscription, but since I have never tried it before and am a little hesitant. There actually is a light finish on the bat, so maybe it can be removed. I'm thinking the ink could have penetrated on the grains, so I might be better off just leaving it. I guess it's nice either way since his signature has changed somewhat and this was certainly signed in his rookie year. Any thoughts?
Thanks again!

Re: Photomatched my 2004 Mauer rookie bat
If you want to remove the personalization, I have the stuff that will remove it completely without hurting the bat at all. You'll never know it was ever there.
It will also remove writing on pictures, without any damage. It's the best stuff ever.

You can see a blot of pinetar by the Rawlings logo sitting right on/below the V of the center grain, the pinetar pattern matches up, and the knob is taped. I'm pretty happy with the match since Joe didn't play very much in 2004 because of a knee injury.
