Marlins answer :Yes,that is a game-used Miguel Cabrera autographed helmet.
YES!YES!YES!
you better get something in writing cause thats not really worth anything them "saying" it. You need something in writing or the mlb holo to be changed.
I want to say that your helmet was not used and signed, but there are a lot of marks making it look used which would be very odd to take some guys GU helmet (not Cabrera's) and have Cabrera sign it. What really intrigues me though is the Tiger's helmet on MLB Auctions. There's no way he wore it, and it states that he did.
I was talking about te Tigers helmet, as there's no way hr wre that helmet because that style didn't exist on the Tigers during his tenure with than. The same would go for that Marlins helmet as tere is no way he wore that helmet in 2005 or 2006. If he actually wore that Marlins helmet it would have had to have been from 2007. Maybe I should become an equipment manager
Seeing that helmet really concerns me as no one on the Tigers wore the old style helmets in 2008. The last years they wore them was 2006 as they switched as a team to the coolflo helmets in 2007.
If this helps with photo/video searching, this was in the Description of the Charity Auction: Is the wording saying both helmet and lineupcard were used on April 15. 2005?
Place a bid on a Miguel Cabrera autographed game used helmet along with a 2005 line up card from his April 19, 2005 start when the Marlins faced the Nationals, autographed by former Marlins manager Jack McKeon. Cabrera started his major league career with the Fish in 2003.
well, I think the helmet is real, a real used helmet....actually signed by Miguel. The question is did he use it or someone else....I don't know. Maybe instead of contacting MLB, try contacting the Marlins & see if someone there could give you any insite from that signing.
Based on MLB's vague response, I agree with the assessment. There were other Cabrera items signed too on this session. The bat would be interesting to see since it mentions his number in the comment section. Would be interesting to know who had the signing session, who the actual dealer who paid for the autograph session. There are over 200 signed Marlins items over a two day period. 693041-693242. Can some of these 200 items be game used? Yes but that is not what MLB is guaranteeing.
Ryu33, why did you not specify what you were questioning about the helmet to MLB? Don't make it a yes or no type question or you get an a short response like what you got. If you paid good money for it, I think you are entitled to know what you specifically bought.

Did some digging and found a photo of Miguel Cabrera from a game on June 16, 2007......notice the front sticker on the helmet, the tip of the Marlin fin is not in the same location as your signed helmet. Dan Uggla has his number on the back of his helmet.
Also, found two late season photos from Sept. 11 & 12, 2007 and Cabrera's number 24 is present on the back of his helmet.
My gut feeling is that this helmet was not worn by Cabrera and MLB is only authenticating the autograph.
