Are those stickers or cardboard cut outs??

Yea I got the Jersey Thursday PM and then added the stickers of the patches to wear TO the game on Friday night @ Yankee Stadium. Got alot of where'd you get that looks some heads noticed that it wasnt actual patches. Not trying to fool anyone on here. Sorry if I misled anyone. Should have said this tribute jersey was in my collection to wear tonight But was literally out the door when i did the Original post.

In a pinch it was the quickest and best way I knew how to pay tribute just like the players.

Tonight's game hosting Tampa Bay:

Left sleeve = Sheppard patch
On heart over NY logo=Steinbrenner patch
Right sleeve = No patch
No black armbands

The Yankees announced today on their website that not only would the two patches be worn on Yankees uniforms beginning Friday, but that all Yankees minor league affiliates will also wear them.

these will be historic collectors items the likes of which will not be seen again for a long time. fortuntely two people so intimately connected with a franchise and beloved by millions of fans for many decades seldom pass on during the same season and since 1/2 the season is gone there will be very few jerseys that have such.

The Sheppard patch looks great, I wish the Tigers would have made up something like this for Harwell, but the "EH" patch is still a great honor.

Based on the quality of the two patches, you'd have to assume they've had the Sheppard one made up and ready to go for a while now and that the Steinbrenner one was done up on the fly...given how bad George III's health has been over the last couple of years, though, I'm surprised they didn't have something better than this in the can.

It may change, but, for the All-Star Game, the Yankees DID wear black armbands, in lieu of the patches.

Aesthetically, I really like the Sheppard patch.

Agree 100%.. Looks great! The GSM patch, eh... kinda plain looking and blah font.. But oh wells. We'll see what they look like on a jersey soon enough
