They aren't the same bat. The first ring of grain on 7/6 is wide at the bottom and the first ring on 7/8 is nowhere close to the same width

I was looking last night, but my eyes were playing tricks on me cause I was so tired. I'd say it's not the same bat.

7/8 HR - Tough, AB is short. You can see the grain ok in this pic.
