I used to work with the Marucci Bat Company. I'll see if I can get some interesting info on nicknames put on bats for Major Leaguers. Got to help make a big batch of bats for Beltran last year, which was cool.

    Eric,

Thank you for the heads up!!! As you see from my earlier post, this is just the bat I have been looking for!

    Regards

Awhile back on eBay (too long ago for the auction to be viewed) I saw a game used Robinson Cano Rawlings bat that had "ROCA" on it (for RObinson CAno, I'm guessing). I don't know if it was brought up here or not, but has anyone seen a Cano nickname bat with ROCA?

    Kind Regards,

    Ron.

    Jeff Scott,
Cool Cards bats! Love the nicknames.
PS, have enjoyed checking in on your blog occasionally. Good stuff.

As a Mets collector but not a very big bat collector, I have managed to add 2 to my collection over the past couple of years --

a Todd Hundley bat that contains both his name and the "HOT ROD" nickname and an Edgardo Alfonzo bat with "FONZIE" on it. I have also seen Alfonzo bats labeled "FONZY" before too.

Not new additions to the list we have running here however.

I would however like to add a non-Mets bat to my collection because I always thought it was hilarious -- a Todd Helton bat with the label "Hillbilly"... John Taube has one for sale currently, but there are quite a few items higher on my wish list than this one...

    Jeff,

These are fantastic. My favorite is Jose Oquendo (Secret Weapon). I wouldn't have guessed this one!

Here are a few past and present Cardinals nickname bats. They include Jose Oquendo (Secret Weapon), Rheal Cormier (Frenchie), Delino DeShields (BOP), Craig Paquette (Pokey), Frank DiPino (Pizza Pino), Yadier Molina (R.I.P. Mami, a tribute to his deceased grandma), Royce Clayton (Ice), Jason Isringhausen (Izzy), Mike Timlin (Dawg) and Ken Dayley (Miss Dayley, ordered as a joke by equipment manager Buddy Bates).

Always looking for more Cardinals nickname bats. Most wanted bats include: "Boom Boom" on a Young bat (Ray Lankford), "Tank" (Thomas Howard) and "Pulse" (Bill Pulsipher).

    Hi,

I ran across these nickname bats while cleaning up the past few days that I wanted to share:

    1. D-Bat with the name "C-Low" on the bat and Florida Marlins team name that belonged to Mike Colangelo.

    2. Carolina Clubs bat with the name "Fonzy" that belonged to Edgardo Alfonzo. I have also seen Rawlings bats of Alfonzo with this same nickname.

Sorry, again no photos are available.
