Your are doing a nice job with the portrait. Keep up the good work. How many hours has this taken you?

    All,

I was not going to do this but I thought what the hell. Graig Kreindler is having a contest on his Facebook site and he is giving away a free painting. I thought I would try so I can study one of his painting close up.

Just click the link above and "Like" his page. Just leave a note on his wall that Glen S sent you. If I win I will have him do a Nellie Fox painting.

    Thanks,

    Glen

Glen, great job! I too enjoyed seeing the evolution of the painting. I think Thome would enjoy the painting himself if you ever get the chance to show it to him. Keep up the good work and please keep sharing your work. Best, Dewey

I normally wouldn't be for it, but I'm actually really enjoying seeing your piece evolve. If you do more than this one, I'd suggest you still keep them to the one thread. Other than that, looks good and keep it up!

    Thanks all.

    To answer some questions.

    It is Oil on Canvas.

Craig Kreindler is amazing. His work actually inspired me to try. Really enjoy his paintings!

(He is however very talented and educated in the arts.) Where as I however paint off of paper plates and hack away in my spare time.

I really should take some type of art class as I feel that painting in oils takes knowing alot of techniques and tricks.

As far as commisions I am not that good. Tell me who you like and I will try one of them if I have time. It is good to have two paintings going at a time to allow for drying between layers.

    Thanks All!

It's not as good as the stuff Craig Kreindler does, but it's damn good. I think the Thome is shaping up better than the Buehrle.

When do you start taking commissions? I wish I had that kind of talent.

Nice job on the face! What are you painting with? Mixed media?

Here is where I am at right now with 30 minutes of base color added.

Hopefully when complete it looks like a human.

I think it is outstanding, and very accurate. Better than good.

    Seriously. Nicely done.

Based on what I see here, I hope you keep pursuing this.
