Thanks Dave! He did have a unique career and passed away at a relatively young age. He was also a heckuva football player in college and probably could have played pro football too.
Another forum member actually had this bat at one time and if it wasn't for him moving it to add other items to his collection, I wouldn't have been able to add it to my mine.
That is one EXCELLENT Jensen bat!! The guy had a unique career. With Ted Williams as a teammate, he stood out well enough in 1958 to win the AL MVP award. A few years later, he was out of the Majors because of his acute fear of flying. He was an excellent autograph signer by mail, but died rather young.
I'd like to thank J.T. Sports for the latest addition to my Cal Bears Alumni bat collection. This 1955 Jackie Jensen uncracked gamer from his Red Sox days is a H&B S100 model bat that has been traced to an order made on August 3, 1955. I'm happy to add this Jensen bat to my collection considering they seem to be pretty tough bats.
Traded my Griffey 1997 Vest with another item and got a 1998 Home with really great use and COA signed by Junior. Still trying to find a good Reds one but they are tough to find.
