Good addition, Mark. I was determining the styles by the designs, not taking fabric content into account.

Also, FWIW, the year that the cool base BP/spring jerseys first appeared is also the year the New Era 39/30 (BP/ST caps) were first worn.

For gamers, the initial Cool Base garb was for home and alternate jerseys from 2006 (0063). For some reason, Majestic initially couldn't produce the road grey unies in cool base form...grey cool base jerseys first appeared in 2007.

Thanks Dave! I almost put your name in the post title, knew you'd have the answer.

So, the jersey I have is technically a cool base BP/ST from 2004 as I assumed... Obviously, the Expos wore them in ST in 2004 as that link shows. It's got pretty heavy wash use, so it'd make sense if it was hung onto for the season (especially since the Expos were cutting costs that last year).

Yes, they were first made in 2006 as Dave said, but I don't think many teams used them. The Braves had their reds available in cool base in 2006, but they became more widely used in 2007 and on.

Here is a pic of a similar style jersey in 2004 ST:

This was the style worn in ST and I believe BP for the season.

I don't have pics handy, but the rubber tail tagging is the majestic performance apparel style from 2003 on. Technically, it doesn't say cool base on it, but it is the same material and style (with the spandex mesh material under the arms) as recent cool base jerseys. 0065 pro tagging on the inside.

It is a Tim Raines jersey, so it has to be from 2004, only year he would have been on the team (as a coach, instructor etc) during the correct timeframe and obviously final season for the Expos.

I was always under the impression they started using them for official sames in 2006 ?

First year for Cool Base jerseys?

Anybody know? I believe it was around 2003, but am wondering if they produced them earlier for pro use...

I'm specifically also wondering about the Expos. I've seen photos showing Cool Base in use in 2004 (for ST and BP I believe), but wondering if they used them earlier.

    Thanks!
