Yes, and I first noticed them when they wore them in the 2008 run, and started wondering what their reasoning was for. However, since the Packers started using the playoff patches in 2008, each game the captains remained the same unlike the regular season.

Maybe it's not an NFL thing then - I just looked at a few photos from the Steelers playoff game with Denver.
It must be just a Packers thing - they pick captains for their entire run of the playoffs so they add the "C" patches. I know the Packers had them during their entire 2010/2011 run and they had them again this year.Leave a comment:

It's been well covered on more of the uniform design/logo sites like Uni-Watch - the Packers do not have set captains during the regular season; they have honorary captains chosen prior to each game so they do not use the "C" patches in the regular season.
However, the NFL mandates that they have set captains for playoff games; the Packers then add the "C" patches to the jerseys for their "set" playoff team captains.Leave a comment:
