The board's 'assistance' as you put it IS 'our opinions' on whether it is a match or not...

I believe this thread now has run its course as demonstrated by these off tangent subjects being broached. Those who continue to hold a grudge and believe my intentions were initially ill to begin with in seeking assistance of a photo match for the purposes of flipping the hat, so be it - I can't change your minds nor do your opinions really matter in the grand scheme of things. In the end of the day, what does matter is that this item was determined, with the assistance of this community, to be game used, so whatever price it sells for, even if higher than what I initially paid, at least the buyer will have a full peace of mind in getting their money's worth this hat is legitimately game worn and not an unused piece doctored or manipulated to have an appearance of such.

Reid, I am somewhat disappointed that, even with several smooth and successful transactions between us, you continue to define our game used relationship with the Gasol jersey that did not come to fruition three years ago. If you recall correctly, and I know I do, you and I were on the verge of completing the transaction. Then, instead of sending your offer for me to accept on the Ebay listing, you had asked me to create another private listing instead for you. I saw no reason in doing so and you declined to continue forward with finalizing the transaction. There was extensive correspondence between us, so to state that the "seller won't respond to the buyer's queries" appears to be a misrepresentation.

Geez, I'm so very sorry to have disappointed you, Victor. Anyway, are you going to provide your real/full name to GUU? Registering with your initials "V L" is a GUU rule violation, which is somewhat disappointing.

It's tough to finalize a transaction when the seller won't respond to the buyer's queries. Anyway, is there a chance you can change your GUU profile so that your full name and not just your initials "V L" are listed? Everyone else has provided his/her full name.

to be honest with the community, I'm just throwing a price out there to see if it might sell for that, truth of the matter is it probably won't and the most I'll be lucky is to break even. I really enjoy the hat and wish I could keep it but as mentioned earlier, I must sell this now to help pay off a substantial amount of another amazing game used piece that I recently acquired. again, I hope there are no hard feelings among community members as I enjoy my interactions with you all. when this new item arrives and I post it in the pick-ups, I hope most of you will understand my decision to sell this piece. Not really sure how you thought this would look after closing and re-listing for more money AFTER getting Hi_Res images to validate Game Use, but as Occam's Razor states, "The simplest solution/explanation is usually the correct solution/explanation."

This thread reminded me of the Gasol jersey Victor/quiggle28 hyped on GUU and then flipped on eBay:

This was a frustrating one for me since I wanted the jersey!

But what is more impressive is that somehow quiggle28 was able to register with GUU with only his initials -- "V L". I know I've said this time and again on these boards, but I sure wish GUU had some kind of identity verification system. But I digress.

It was closed this morning as 'no longer available' for the $2,000 price tag and then re-listed later in the day with a $3,000 price tag.

this past weekend I just purchased a substantially high end item that makes keeping both this hat and this new item not possible. when I solicited opinions last week on a photo match, this other item was not available and my intention was originally to keep this hat. I appreciate the members and community and do not want to give the impression that I was seeking your assistance in order to sell this at a higher price. However, I will not sell the hat without noting that is was used, with a photo match, in order to prevent a buyer from accusing me of adding the use, since it was a team issued labeled hat.
