Re: Yankees go retro for series at Fenway Park

I was browsing thru some old Grey Flannel catalogs and found another example of the 1996 Negro League throwback that the Yankees wore on June 8th, 1996.

In the "Fall Classic 2000" Lot #709 on page 178 is listed:
Joe Torre Negro League Throwback including jersey, pants and hat-all signed and accompanied by a Yankees LOA.

I will post an image once I take one.

Did they wear the Turn Ahead The Clock jersey?

i picked up a pat kelly uniform several years back that even came with the belt
no special tagging at the time
from what i can recall routine russell athletic tagging
i don't recall paying hostage type pricing despite its rarity

The jerseys were great. Only thing I was disapointed in the ceremony jerseys. They were Majestic replicas. I would have loved the tagging to have todays date with Red Sox 100th ceremony.

The Red Sox did the 1912 uniform thing, also, as this photo of David Ortiz shows:

A very unique detail: the retro Yankees/Highlanders and Red Sox jerseys carried no numbers on the backs, in keeping with authentic 1912 uniform design.
