What I hate is when someone takes a game used item and alters it... I'm not a fan of game-used bats being chopped up and made into pens, for example.

Or pencil holders, or benches.

I think that most of us, especially the player collectors, enjoy having a quirky item or two in our collections. Having that sharpie with the MLB hologram is kind of cool.

I remember seeing someone here had the pen Hasheem Thabeet used to sign his rookie contract with Memphis. I thought that was actually pretty cool.

Jrue Holidays contract pen was up for auction at the same time, but I only bid on the Thabeet because the pen itself was also signed.. I wish I had bid on both items

I wonder whether MLB has any actual rules about what their authentication representatives can and cannot put a sticker on.

I haven't seen or heard of a sticker being put on any paper cups from the dugout or wads of chewing gum, but would you be shocked?
