Yeah I saw that picture. I was just saying that it was not an '81 helmet. I am curious though as to why it would have that National Champions sticker on it?? Just seems like something you would see as an advertisement. I do not know if they were suspension or not, but in some pictures I do see the silver rivets on some of the helmets, and I am not an expert, but it just led me to think it was suspension.

This is certainly not definitive, but I'll suggest that the helmet may have been worn a year or two later. Here's a pic from sometime in 1982-1984 that seems to show a wider stripe.

Hope I am posting this in the right section.
The 1981 game used Clemson football helmet for sale on eBay right now is not an actual game used helmet as he claims. If you look at the helmet the color is off, the paw is not the correct size or position, plus in 1981/82 Clemson had thin blue stripes along side the white middle stripe, plus if I am not mistaken they used suspension helmets. Also the "1981 National Champions" decal leads me to believe it was a replica made after they won, etc.
I have already sent him a nice message letting him know of the discrepancies.
