Hey guys - not sure if this helps or not but here are some pics of the insides of the cheek pads and a close up of one of the facemask clips

Preston, what were the numbers on the face mask clips? Another clue with the face mask date and if you can determine any series of numbers under the cheek pads post those…may help date the shell manufacture date.

Even though I'm a Titans guy I'm probably going to keep it. If I do ever decide to let it go I'll definitely keep you in mind. I just want to know for sure who wore it.

Are you gonna flip the helmet or keep it?

I wish there were more clear images (or more, period) of Martin Chase as I believe that's who it was worn by as well - the image I saw on Getty did happen to really look close to the helmet I have - I'm going to have my buddy get it from Getty I guess next time he does an order. But I'm having trouble locating other numbers that would help date the shell.

The Riddell chinstrap could have been added after the fact or it could be that the player who had the helmet last preferred the Riddell to a Schutt. I'm sure that the Jaguars equipment room has stacks of chinstraps from Riddell and Schutt, so it could even be that the player didn't care and the equipment manger just happened to grab a Riddell logo chinstrap and slapped in on the helmet.

    Hey guys!

Sorry been running like crazy this weekend but here is a pic of the other side of the helmet. Going to check under the cheek pads momentarily.

Preston, look under the cheek pads and see if you read the series of numbers…post these and we may be able to date the shell. Looks like some numbers too on the face mask clips…what are they?

DFA - is April 2001 date of manufacture. Has shock blocker clips on the sides it appears, to me a good sign…if recertified in 2006…look at game pictures in 2005, 2006 and 2007…the numbers on the face mask clips will narrow down the years too - cool find!

I've been able to match a helmet worn in a prior year than the recertification sticker date is why I said look at 2005.

Try Getty Image 55319016. Year 2005. Looks like Martin Chase. Not uncommon for an NFL player wearing a Schutt helmet with a Riddell chin strap. His chin strap in the image is blue print Riddell.

Any chance of getting a picture of the right side?

Having trouble finding a model number because there's so much padding, but there is in fact a facemask code (DJA) - which if I remember correctly should be April 2001, yet this helmet was recertified in 2006. Based on pics I looked at (some were terrible quality), the closest style match I could find was Martin Chase, as Todd Fordham's helmets seemed to have a strip directly down the middle of the helmet.
