I agree. A loose thread could've been cut at some point by a clubhouse guy or something but the star shouldn't go from wrinkled to unwrinkled.

See pics below. I don't think it matches the card because there's too much white showing between the bottom of the star and top of the "I" in the picture. The jersey shows this as a tapering, thin sliver of white.

I don't think it matches the pic with Shaq because the "1" doesn't match up to the left pinstripe very well. On the jersey, the top left part of the 1 arches back well across the pinstripe, but not so much on the picture. The lower part of the 1 doesn't align to the pinstripe quite the same, either.

Do I get $5 if I save you from paying out the hundred? [Just kidding of course.]

Also on the picture I see a larger loose thread near the top of the number 1. I do not see that on the jersey.

from what I can tell, the photo of him and Shaq is from the early part of 1995. here's a 1995 Upper Deck card that appears to match up as well

The spacing of the stripes on your jersey is too close together to match up with any white jersey he can be seen wearing in game photos. Your jersey has 11-12 stripes for every 10 stripes on all the white game jerseys I've compared it to. A couple stripes will match up in one area, but the rest will be off, because his actual game jerseys have stripes spaced farther apart.

After looking at it again it does not seem to be a match.
The bottom of the star does not come down far enough and the stripes on the shoulder look different.
