Keith Hernandez 1983 Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat N Y Mets

Here is a game used bat from a fans favorite-- Keith Hernandez. Following 9 1/2 years as a Gold Glove firstbaseman with the St. Louis cardinals, Hernandez was traded to the New York Mets on June 16, 1983 for Neil Allen and Rick Ownbey, one of the best trades in Mets history. Hernandez hit .306 the rest of the way with the Mets, and continued to be a fan favorite there for six more seasons before ending his career with the Cleveland Indians. A five-time All Star selection, Hernandez was a member of two World Championship teams-- the 1982 Cardinals and the 1986 Mets.

This 34.5 inch, approximately 32 ounce model C271C (cupped) bat was manufactured by Hillerich & Bradsby and has what is commonly referred to as 1980-83 labeling. This bat is specific to 1983, and is from one of two orders shipped to Hernandez during that period, on 7/19/83 ((31 oz.) or 8/17/84 (32 oz.) following his trade to the New York Mets. The bat is uncracked, shows light use with rack marks, ball marks, and hit marks, and has Hernandez' uniform number 17 on the knob in black marker. This bat was originally sourced from one of Hernandez' teammates on the 1983 Mets. This is an absolutely perfect game used bat for display.

This is an outstanding bat for any Hernandez fan, Mets or Cardinals collector, or 1982 or 1986 World Championship Team collector. View Lot Detail page
