If you have the time (a couple of hours to kill before the game) and are looking for food and sightseeing, I would simply recommend taking the ten fifteen minute walk from the stadium to downtown. Lots to see, you can go down to the water, and lots of places to visit. Seattle has a nice downtown, with most places within walking distance, and it's right on the water. Plus, city buses are free within the downtown.

Another shop to stop by on your way into or out of the area is Centerfield Sports. I have known Ben the owner for over 8 years and he is a great guy. He will have a nice selection of game used items and auto's. I don't know what you like, but there is no shortage of places to eat near the stadium. Off the top of my head, I can think of an Irish pub that serves traditional Irish food, Thai, seafood (Ivar's) and BBQ. You can ask for opinions and directions while at the game.

I'd recomend getting there a couple hours early and going to the Pyramid Ale House. Great beer and decent food! As for tickets I'd recomend just picking a few up from a scalper. They mostly hang out outside of the stadium behind Home plate and next to the Will Call and Ticket office. As bad as the Mariners are playing you should be able to get really good seats for a bargain through a scalper. It's the only way I go to the game. Sometimes the tickets are actually cheaper than face value and they always have the best seats. Never take their first offer! You have to play a little hard ball. Maybe shop around a bit. I'd either try to get Diamond club seats behind home plate these are a little spendy or charter member seats right behind the dugouts these are a little better deal and are great seats. Hope this helps!

I'm not from the Seattle area but have been there a number of times. If your out after-hours and want something to eat I'd suggest to check out The Hurricane Cafe, http://www.hurricanecafe.com/main.htm.

I remember they had decent food and had 4, 6, or 12 egg omelettes if that's your thing. They also had some very interesting late night patrons.

Heading to Seattle for the 1st weekend in Aug. and want to attend my first Mariners game. Have been to Seattle a few times but never in the summer. Any advice for best seats, where to shop for memorbilia? Also..any great restaruants around the stadium?

Also, looking to buy reasonably priced jersey frames and or bat holders. I can't find anything in Vancouver, Canada.
