Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
I really agree with skyking that you are never done collecting. Although I have a lot of the Bagwell items I want, I am always searching for something unique and different. That's why I keep checking eBay and auction sites, even though I am mostly happy with my collection. Whether it's a lineup card of a significant nature or an autographed card contract, I am always looking to add something new and different to my Bagwell collection.Leave a comment:

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
Just about there...need a blue Penguins durene and maybe a couple more Pitt basketball jerseys, a 60s Steelers gamer, and a Pittsburgh Pipers warmup. Thought I might find the Pens jersey at www.gamewornauctions.net so I consigned one of my extra Steelers durenes with them in the hopes of funding, alas no durenes to be found!
Genius,
I have a Pipers warm up shirt available. Please contact me regarding it.

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
I don't believe the true collector ever stops. He may find his grail, etc., but there are other players/teams to collect.
While I may have reached a pinnacle in 2008, I do other things. No doubt it slows down, but sometimes that isn't a bad thing. Being more focussed helps the realization that kids have college someday, and that pesky thing called bills and everyday life, insurance...you know the drill.Leave a comment:

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
if we are in a habit of collecting something then we get so attached to it that we cant live without collecting that thing but sometimes what we are doing is not liked by others but we should not listen to them and continue what we are doing...Leave a comment:

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
I collect Minnesota Vikings helmets. It's like a drug: Totally addicting. The more helmets I acquire, and the more I learn about game used Vikings helmets/equipment, the more I want/hope to get.... Sometimes it's almost frustrating because game used items are really hard to find, and when they do become available, it is expensive, and alot of people fight to acquire the same item (I notice this to be the case for any kind of game used memorabilia)... But, I really cherish the items I have acquired, and it is fun to keep searching for new things....Leave a comment:

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
As long as the Diamondbacks play, there will be new bats to obtain, and now that their jerseys and helmets are becoming easier to obtain, more of those, as well.
I used to be in the habit of, as soon as a new player joined the team, going out and buying all of his "other team" bats and jerseys that I could find and afford - I don't do that so much, any more, and I'm probably going to be thinning out my collection by getting rid of a lot of "other team" stuff, except for my very favorite players. But I'll keep buying DBacks items for as long as they play and I'm still kicking.Leave a comment:

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
I am going to stop letting the collecting grow at 200 helmets, and then shift into "upgrade mode." I currently have them ranked on a spreadsheet with #1 being the best, or favorite, and the last helmet on the list ranked as my "worst" one. Once I hit 200, I will have to sell #200 in order to buy another helmet, which will be an upgrade over the one I sell. Why 200 my wife wanted to know? I told her it just is a good round number. I told her I could have 20 rows of 10, or 10 rows of 20. "A collection needs to be flexible." She seems to think 120 is a better number, as I still have a ways to go to get to #200. "...that way you can have 20 rows of 6 or 6 rows of 20."
Women...they don't know much.I'll bet you right now you won't be able to stop at 200!!!
I have to admit jerseys are a little easier to store and display than helmets are. That alone would necessitate keeping a cap on the collection.

Re: Will your collection ever be complete?
Thanks B1SON....it's obviously an addiction for me
I started collecting a little bit of everything as far as jerseys go but, I am trying to limit my collecting now to game used jerseys of former Ohio State players. That gives me a new batch to go after every year. I am currently over 100 NFL gamers of former Buckeyes. I really like your website and someday I would love to have my own website for my jerseys. Right now I just have all my pictures on my photobucket page.
