I noticed on Baseball-Reference this morning that former Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves, Philadelphia A's, and Boston Red Sox infielder Eddie Joost has died. He was an All Star in 1949 and 1952. He also, prior to his death, was the oldest player that played on a World Series team -- 1940 World Series Champion Cincinnati Reds.
I was looking forward to getting him on a baseball with the 1940 World Series Champs inscription. Unfortuately, that day will never happen.
