Offered is a vintage Cincinnati Reds cap worn by George Scherger who coached the Reds from 1970-1978. The cap was made by Wilson and looks to be a size 6 7/8. I cannot find any Wilson codes on the sweatband but an interesting aspect of this cap is there is a number “33” stamped, not hand-written, into the cap. I have never seen this before and it is quite interesting. I do not know if it was Scherger’s jersey number or an inventory number.
With the exception of just one tiny hole, the cap is in terrific condition. The price is $175.00 and $12.00 for USPS Priority/Insured mailing. Or, will trade for a Phillies 1960's era Wilson made cap.
