Since his departure from baseball in 1991 former 86 Met Ed Hearn has undergone an amazing 3 kidney transplants. Despite having to take up to 50 pills a day just to maintain a healthy inmune system me and you take for granted, Ed still manages to travel the country as the only former and current professional athelete to be a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP rating) telling his couragous story. Ed is a national spokesman for the Nepchure Organization whose charter is to help find a cure for Kidney Disease. He is also founder of the Bottom of the Ninth Foundation his charity which is dedicated to help rebuild character in our Country by donating to a myraid of causes.
