Here is an updated list of the items I am looking for. If you have anything in this list for sale or trade, please feel free to email me at TNT_Toys@yahoo.com

Thanks Scott... I did see this one, and in my opinion, it's the 2nd bad Kevin Mitchell bat in as many weeks.

The first one had nothing written on the knob. When I questioned the seller, his response was "it was probably used in batting practice." The bat sold for $15.00. Guess others had the same opinion I had...

This one has a blacked out knob. I suppose something other than Mitchell's number was written on it, and someone decided that it was better to have nothing on it than to indicate that someone else used it.

One of my problems is that I get too emotionally attached to my Met jerseys--more than a rational person should. I appreciate the interest but I'm hanging on to the jersey. When I saw the Mitchell & Ness blue jerseys and noticed the slight differences with the one I own I decided to hop onto this thread and see if I couldn't learn why there were differences--and I do appreciate your helping me out. But if I ever decide to sell the jersey I will contact you on this forum (I can tell that you are both big Met fans).

Thanks for the post. The tagging on my jersey is consistent with the "5 83 1" and the "35 83 1" examples. There is a difference between the lettering on my jersey and the Brooks' and Giles' jerseys in that mine has orange lettering outlined in gray--the opposite of these two. Mine more closely resembles the Frey jersey but the letters and numbers aren't outlined in white and the tagging is different.

The jersey I have is Ron Darling's. I'm not sure how much game use it saw since he only appeared in 5 games during a September callup. As you mentioned I had a tough time finding this style (and that was about 15-16 years ago).

    Brian,

Are you selling the Darling jersey? If so, I would be interested.
I have several Darling jerseys in my collection; from 1982, 1987 and 1995. I had 4, but I sold a 1993 of his.
I also would like one jersey of this style.

I have slides from mid 70's and mid 80's showing Mets in different style uni's. Slides are $5 to $25 per.

    Hi Nick,

I have a question about the Mets '83 alternative blue jerseys. Was there more than one style to the blue game jerseys? I've seen the Mitchell & Ness recreations and they have gray lettering and numbering outlined in orange. The alternative jersey that I own has orange numbering and lettering (outlined in gray). The nameplate has been replaced just a fraction below where the original was in place--so I know it's not a BP jersey. Can you clarify?

    Thanks,

    Brian
