Hello forum members. I am in need of some expert advise on a piece of vintage St. Louis Cardinals memorabilia. So I figured, who better than the august members of this forum?
I have a St. Louis Cardinals cap from either the 40’s or 50’s. Inside the cap, there is a leather sweatband. Sewn onto the sweatband is a red Rawlings label. Stamped directly into the sweatband is the size of the cap and the number 10.
My question is, does the “10” actually represent a player number? It seems like a logical assumption but I do not know for sure and was wonder if someone may have another idea on what the number 10 actually represents.
