The triple play that ended Sunday's 2-1 Yankees victory over Oakland was the third triple play the Yankees pulled off this season. That ties a record achieved by 7 other MLB teams before this.

In th first game of a Phillies/Mets doubleheader on 6/25, Phillies starter Aaron Nola added his name to the record books alongside a Hall of Fame pitching legend.

After allowing the first 2 Mets batters of the game on base, Nola proceeded to strike out the next 10 Mets hitters he faced before another Met was able to put the ball in play. This tied an MLB record achieved 51 years ago by Tom Seaver.
