Check out this Virginia Tech helmet I found today!

Went to my local seafood place to get some crab meat. I spotted this lid on a shelf in the store. The employee said that his old neighbor was the VT equipment manager and that the guy used to give him game used stuff. He said that he has about 50 old "rip away" jerseys at home. This thing was so thin and had a big ol' crack right up the center!

Any ideas on value?

Nice helmet! No idea on the value. But, according to this site ( http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/ ) Tech only wore that style for three seasons.

I'm not a fan of college sports either but I just thought that it was a neat piece.

I'd feel the same way about a Red Sox item, I despise them!
