Mickey Mantle L/S 34.5"

Hi Guys:
I have a question about my Mantle L/S with 1966 era centerbrand. It has no model number anywhere on it. On the knob is imprinted MM 4 1/2. It is 34 1/2" in length. Is this a real, team issued or store bat? Does the 1/2 inch marking indicate that it was issued by Mantle or the Yankees? It weighs 33 oz. Thanks for your help.

Hi Ron.

The markings you describe on the knob are characteristic of an H & B store model, or retail, bat. Other examples of non-professional markings on the knob of a H & B bat , for example a Mickey Mantle 34-inch store bat, would include MM4, 34, or 4.
