In early April he did use black grip tape found on Aluminum baseball bats.

I wouldn't by any means call myself a Ryan Howard expert, but I do own two of his bats, neither of which have tape... and from what I have seen in games he has never used any kind of tape on his bats

Has anyone observed Howard using a taped handled bat during a game ?? Any help would be appreciated??
