In addition, I've seen a 1973-75 model R161 that was a signature. Is there a reason why a 1977-79 R161 is a block letter model? I assume he did not have a contract that year? or could it because he was with MIL in 1978 & 1979 and did not have a contract with H&B?

Can someone help me find out if this bat can be directed to a particular year? It's 1977-79 Larry Hisle Model R161 H&B Block Letter Bat. I was told this was used in 1977.
