    BMH - Tito Landrum M159

    Brian,
I have a Tito Landrum M159 34" 31oz. I think it is from 1983, but I wanted to make sure he ordered them that year. The bat is dark brown, sorry I don't know the technical term.
    Thanks,
    Karim

    Hi Karim---
M159 (both cupped end and uncupped end) was a favored model for Tito Landrum. Bats matching your description (34 in / approx 31 oz / hickory finish) were ordered by him as early as 1982, and throughout the 1983 to 1985 label period. Check out the width of the center label---if it is 4 1/2 inches from side-to-side then it would be the 1980 to 1983 label period. If it is 3 7/8 inches side-to-side then it would be from the 1983 to 1985 label period (1983 was an overlap / transitional label year.) Also check out the Louisville Slugger on the barrel label ---if there is a registration trademark at the end of "slugger" then it would be manufactured between 1986 to 1989.

      Mike,
Thank you so much for your help. 3 7/8 inches Logo with the R after Slugger puts it at '88. I'm always impressed at the wealth of knowledge on this forum, it is very helpful and appreciated.

Actually, during the 1986-89 label period, documented records ahow several orders matching this bat's specifications in 1986 (54 bats), 1987 (18 bats), and 1989 (12 / senior league), but no documented orders in 1988.
