BMH - Eric Davis 1997 - 2001

Brian,

I was wondering if you knew what Eric used in his later years. I know he used a lot of different types, but recently purchased an R205 that I believe he used in 97 or 98 and was hoping you could give me details about his last few years in the league.

Hi Joe,

I'm a big Eric Davis' fan and I've a couple of bats from the years you're asking...I've a black LS R205 from 97-98 with lot of game use on the back barrell and #24 on the knob...I've also, from 97-98, a beautiful grey KC SLAMMER pounded with use on the left & back barrel.

I actually have a black R205 from the same year I believe. Have a KC Slammer that also has good use, does yours have the same triangle sticker above the black tape around the knob?

If you're ever looking to sell them let me know, although i'm sure you'll hold onto them. Thanks for the info.

Yes Joe, the white triangle is right there, above the black rings. My guess about the bats is that the KC SLAMMERS have been used during the 1997 season (there are tons of picture and cards of Eric using that bat), that year Eric also used Rawlings bats...I suppose that he used the LS R205 during the 1998 because he had the autograph engraved into the bat, meaning he had an exclusive contract with H&B, so that should have been the only brand he used in 1998. Of course Brian in going to be a lot more precise about it.
