A review of Pete Rose's H & B recoeds documents that between 4/29/70 and 4/5/72, 27 out of 29 orders of S222 bats were 36 inches in length. Only wo orders were 35 inches. Weights were 33 oz to 35 oz during this period.
Between 4/28/72 and 10/10/72, 9 out of 10 orders of S222 bats were 35 inches in length. One order on 6/6/72 was 34 inches in length.
To sum up >>
if the bat is 34 inches in length, it is part of a single order dated 6/6/72.
If the bat is 35 inches in length, then it was manufactured between 4/3/72 and 10/10/72.
If the bat is 36 inches in length, the overwhelming probablilty is that it was manufactured between 4/29/70 and 2/1/72 (approx 232 bats of S222 / 36 in during that period were manufactured vs. 12 bats afterward).
