Did Willie Mays ever use a H&B block lettered bat with both first and last name?

Bigcatbaseball - the answer is yes. Please see my Willie Mays 1971 All Star Game Used Bat below. It is unclear in the Louisville Slugger Ledger Cards exactly which shipments had both names on the barrel, but I only recall seeing a handfull of full name bats over the years of collecting and they have all been from the post 1968 labeling period. All of Willie's Louisville Slugger bats ordered were in block letter, as he did not have an endorsement contract with them. Let me know how else I can help - Jim

Thanks. What a great looking bat. I have a Mays bat from 1973 with both first and last name block lettering. But I like your bat better !

BigCat - if possible, send me a pic of your bat from 1973 - would love to see it. Mays was probably outside of a few Met players I followed in my youth, my favorite non-Yankee by far back then jcaravello@nc.rr.com - Thanks! Jim
