    Re: Von Hayes

    Hi Carlie--

What happened, did you complete your collection of "every game bat that Mac ever used" and switch to Von Hayes ?? .. just kidding of course

Unfortunately, we do not have Hayes' complete H & B shipping records. The single documented reference available comes from The hard-to-find book AMERICA'S BAT, which notes that Von Hayes' most frequently ordered H & B model bat throughout his career was Model C243C (cupped end) in a length of 34.5 inches and a weight of 32 ounces.

Possibly some Phillies collectors will be able to provide additional information.

    Good Luck

    Mike

Mike your funny. As for my MAC collection I believe I have all the hard to come by bats except for 98.If/when Mac gets in the HOF,I believe the market will see a lot of MAC bats for sale.I have talked with a few collectors about their MAC bats and this is the same answer I get.I really don't blame esp if they paid a ton of $$$$$$$$$$$$ during the cardinals playing years.Just my thought on the reason of seeing MAC bats up for sale

As for Hayes bats well I know a few people who might want to sell so I just try to find out what I can before I make an offer here in the cold town of BAKERSFIELD.Thanks again as always.Chat with you later
