A fellow Forum reader asked me about my opinion on a "Pete Rose jacket" currently offered on ebay:

I've sold several of this style jacket (1980-1983), all game used and obtained directly from the team. This is the first time I've ever seen anything quite like this, in particular:
*Numbers on the sleeves-note the difference in the style of the 4's on the
sleeves as compared to the back.
*Number on back
*Name sewn directly on jacket (should be on a plate)
*Name in block letters (should be vertical arch-block was first used in
1986, Rawlings brand, not Wilson)
Photos of my early 1980's game worn Schmidt are below:

the Phillies incorporated two different style P's on front, thus, the Ebay jacket P was used during Rose's time in Philly.
The seller was advised of these issues, and has not responded.
Let the buyer beware!
