I saw that bat and didn't give it the time of day. I have a pretty good size Dunn collection going and to be honest with you, I have NEVER seen a Dunn signature that looks anything like that. It is odd that the seller didn't give better pictures or details to the bat. Like stated earlier all Dunn bats seem to be hammered with use and not many uncracked bats make it to the market. Taped handles are not a major point as he changes that often. It would be interesting to see the markings on the top or bottom of the bat, that would be a big key to telling a little more about if the bat was ever really used.

Lesson learned, research your items before you even think about making a bid.

yeah the lack of pictures is the main thing that i asked for before i bid. No i wanted this bat either way. the fact that it was sign ed was a bonus. I saw that BPH had the same model bat so then I made bid. if i got it for less than $130 thats what i was wiulling to pay for it. i know the lack of pictures and tape on the bottom and he said that his number is on the bottom of the handle and i didnt think he did that. But the seller said if i didnt like it he would refund me. I dont think i can go wrong with that. And if it is fake. Remove it and get it sign by him when i get the chance.

Re: ADAM DUNN GAMER W/Auto Please i need your opinions before i spend my money.

someone please explain where i said i WAS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THE ITEM. second of all if people have the right to come onto my thread, EVERY SINGLE TIME. not some of the time but EVERY SINGLE time i post something theres that one or two people that have to show some type of bullying and point out some flaw about myself rather than responding the the post about the hobby i love to death. I have ever single right to to say how that makes me feel.

AND PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET ON ME. And NEVER said i didnt do any reaseach on the dunn bat.before i bought it. SOMEONE ASSUMED THAT AND SAID IT TO ME. I navigate through pics and autos, mlb.com and other sites like its the last thing ill ever do. I come to you guys AFTER i do my own research. I made the decision to buy the bat even after i OBVIUOSLY saw that the auto does not look like anything i can find on Dunn. I respect most of you guys so much to not start a post without doing as much homeworrk myself.

AND THEN...SOMEONE ELSE ALSO MADE UP THAT I SAID SOMEWHERE THAT I WASNT GOING TO PAY FOR THE ITEM. Isnt that smearing someone right there. I dont know what else to say. I sure as hell arnt going to say "im going to find another webste", cause im sure ill get "Fine we dont want someone "LIKE ME" on "OUR" websire anyways." Actually for the people i respect on here ill kindly put up with internet gangsters. lol. tanks for the help to those that game it

Green grizzle: Don't let the negative guys get you down here. Ignore them or just try to learn from the forum. Some have a tendency to be negative.

I think Dunn is one of the most underrated players in the game. 4 straight 40 HR seasons, almost 1/2 way to another and you still never hear his name?? Better for us. That will keep prices lower. Howard Wolf just had a beautiful 05 alternate on ebay a few weeks back, went for under $500. Unreal. While there is a co. on ebay that has Dunn stuff and I amongst others have had issues with their customer service - I believe all their stuff to be legit. I have seen batting gloves, helmets, bats all available.

With a high degree of confidence, I want to re-assure you that nobody on this forum has a vendetta against you. The implication that you had won the auction and then might not pay for it came from your initial post:

"I did win it though and i would like peoples opinions before i spend my money on it."

My only point in my reply was that I felt that you already HAD spent your money on it by winning the auction. If you didn't really mean to say it that way, that is my bad. I know things can get lost in translation sometimes.

Back to the whole point of the thread: I agree whole heartedly with your assessment of the signature. I also agree that even without the signature you got a good deal on the bat. Congrats!

Well at least you won't have to worry about being outbid by BlueJays GM J.P. Ricciardi for any future Adam Dunn memorabilia

I neither agree or disagree with what the GM said, but I admire a man that has the stones to speak his mind.

You admire another GM that goes out of his way to put down a player that has done nothing to his team or organization? You have got to be kidding me, I see no need for any office worker on another team to be commenting about other players. He could have easily said they were not interested in Dunn instead of painting some big picture of a player that is not on his team. I think it was coward less, can even guess how you think that shows "stones".

Being in an AL city (Detroit) I don't hear alot on Dunn and have to go out of my way to get stories. As a lifetime Dave Kingman fan and collector, the similarities with Dunn and other sluggers are many. I think he has many great qualities. 4 straight 40 HR seasons on his way to 5 would be a start. His shortcomings balance out. May not be a HOFer but not everybody is. We can't dispatch every player who we think will not make the Hall. Kingman did not stay employed for 16 years for being a nothing.

The beauty of this story is this: the Reds will soon be taking on the Jays, and hopefully Dunn will make them pay. Let his bat do the talking. Back in the 80's the GM of the Mariners said Kingman was a "mistake hitter." Kingman got mad, and went on to destroy the Mariners every chance he got thereafter. He said himself it kind of lit a fire. Sometimes the worse thing a guy can do is open his mouth, and someone in a GM position should know better...

What I said, was that I'm not commenting on what he said, but the fact that he had an opinion on something and stated such. Too many people keep their opinions to themselves in the politically correct world we live in. Its refreshing to see someone speak their mind. I may not like the message, but I'll defend his right to say it.

I wouldnt mind having Dunn on the Nationals right now though.

Give it time, it seems like most Reds end up with the Nats at some point.

Reds should have traded Dunn when they could get something for him. Bottom line is he is one guy, and they'd be better off to trade him for pitching or whatever as they are not winning with him or Griffey. I don't see the Reds in Dunn's future. Will they lose him to free agency and get NOTHING?
